Author Guidelines
Aims and Scope
Journal of Aesthetic Surgery (JAS) is an international peer-reviewed open access journal dedicated to advancing the science and practice of aesthetic surgery and aesthetic medicine. The journal publishes high-quality original research, review articles, case reports, technical notes, and editorials.
The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Facial Aesthetic Surgery
- Breast Surgery
- Body Contouring
- Injectables and Fillers
- Minimally Invasive Procedures
- Laser and Energy-Based Devices
- Regenerative Aesthetic Medicine
- Complications and Patient Safety
Article Types
Original Articles
- 3000–6000 words
- Structured abstract (max 300 words)
- Up to 50 references
Review Articles
- 4000–8000 words
- Abstract (max 300 words)
- Up to 100 references
Case Reports
- 1500–3000 words
- Abstract (max 250 words)
- Up to 30 references
Technical Notes
- 1500–2500 words
- Abstract (max 250 words)
Editorial
- Up to 1500 words
- No abstract required
Submission Requirements
- The manuscript must be original and not previously published.
- The manuscript must not be under consideration elsewhere.
- All authors must approve the submission.
- Ethical approval must be provided where applicable.
- Patient consent must be obtained where applicable.
- A conflict of interest statement must be included.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be prepared in the following format:
- Title page (title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author)
- Abstract
- Keywords (3–6 keywords)
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- References
- Figures and Tables (if applicable)
References
References should follow the Vancouver citation style and be numbered in the order of appearance in the text.
Figures and Tables
- Figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
- Tables must be editable (not images)
- Each figure and table must include a caption
Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. The editorial office will first evaluate the manuscript, followed by review from independent experts. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, supporting the global exchange of knowledge in aesthetic surgery.
Publication Ethics
The journal follows international standards of publication ethics. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and unethical research practices are strictly prohibited.
